Summer Welcome to the Sports Leaders UK eZine, giving you the latest news and information from Britain's premier sports leadership Awarding Body.
In this edition, find out more about the launch of the Sports Leaders UK Level 2 Award in Sports Leadership, and free resource Teaching Values Through Leadership.
Sports Leaders UK is moving all its qualifications onto the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), which will replace the current National Qualifications Framework - we give you an update.

| Qualifications & Credit Framework Update (QCF) |

A QCF Technical Update will be mailed to you this week, and a copy will also be included on the Sports Leaders UK website.
The Sports Leaders UK website is currently being updated to reflect all of the QCF changes, and a further QCF eZine will be sent to you next week, which will coincide with the new QCF information being available online.
Sports Leaders UK is now a recognised Component Awarding Body, meaning that its qualifications are eligible for use as Additional Specialist Learning in the Diploma. Please look out for the Sports Leaders UK qualifications in the next edition of the ASL catalogue, out in August 2010. |

To make sure that you can relax totally over the summer break, do take this as a gentle reminder to complete your application forms for the Sports Leaders UK courses that you intend to teach in the next academic year. Visit our website now and register your interest in Sports Leaders UK's exciting new development, that will give young people aged 14 years and over a practical and fun way to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
The Level 2 Award in Sports Leadership will give candidates the chance to develop their organisation, motivation and communication skills, whilst focusing on safe practice, positive role models in sport and event organisation. This qualification is designed to develop generic leadership skills that can be applied to a variety of sporting situations, as well as contributing to the personal development of the candidate.

Teaching Values Through Leadership
Sports Leaders UK announces a new teaching resource - Teaching Values Through Leadership.
Teaching Values Through Leadership encapsulates the ideals of 'leadership' in an easy to deliver teaching resource.
In the run-up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Sports Leaders UK firmly believes that all its' candidates should make the link between being a Sports Leader in their community, and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Teaching Values Through Leadership resource is recognised as part of the London 2012 Inspire programme, and has been granted the Inspire mark by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG).
