My, we've grown...
February was a very exciting month for Onefish Twofish, not least because we welcomed two new part time people to our team.
Alex Corbett has a 1st class degree in Business Administration and joins us to support consultancy projects by doing clever things like academic research, market research and lots of report writing.
Richard James is a graphic designer and typography expert with a wealth of experience from organisations like Guide Dogs for the Blind. Richard will be spearheading much of our creative work. One of his first challenges will be to design the new Onefish Twofish family of websites.
That's our news. Come on, let's hear yours..!

The top down / bottom up approach to lead generation
Planning a lead generation campaign is a big deal - mostly because there is usually a lot of time and money at stake. We find it helpful to break down lead generation into two generic approaches. Understanding the difference between the two helps you focus your money on the most effective approach - or alternatively, test a mixture of the two if you haven't made your mind up yet.
Here's how. |

We've long admired Roger Steare for his pioneering work in business and personal ethics. So when he released his book, Ethicability®, last month we jumped at the chance to grab a soundbite from Roger about the potent combination of ethics and small businesses like yours. Here's what he told us.
"Someone recently said to me that people who run small businesses don't care about ethics, they just want to make money. I'm not so sure. For a start, there's an unspoken assumption here that making money and ethics are incompatible. This is a myth. In fact in the long term the opposite is true. Serious research has clearly shown that businesses with real values create real wealth. What's more important for business leaders is the feeling which Abraham Lincoln described when he said, " When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That's my religion". In other words, what's the point in making money if the way you make it eats up your soul?"
You can find out more or buy Roger's new book, Ethicability® here. We hear 3,000 copies have sold since its release 2 weeks ago... |
| LIFE IMITATES MARKETING - THE HOKEY KOKEY |

 |
Not quite as good as £50 in your back pocket but better than a brown banana, this month we bring you some light relief. This ditty was overheard on Radio 4 and affords a surprising insight to the origins of the party favourite - The Hokey Kokey. We had no idea that our beloved group dance started life as a sonnet. But we're so pleased to find that it did!
By William Shakespeare
O proud left foot, that ventures quick within Then soon upon a backward journey lithe Anon, once more the gesture, then begin Command sinistral pedestal to writhe Commence thou then the fervid Hokey-Poke A mad gyration, hips in wanton swirl To spin! A wilde release from heaven's yoke Blessed dervish! Surely canst go, girl The Hoke, the poke banish now thy doubt Verily, I say, 'tis what it's all about |
