2nds save their best till last
Maidenhead 2nds 44pts vs Whitney 2nds 5pts

On a great day for rugby, Maids 2nds didn't disappoint the crowd! We played some cracking rugby as individuals and as a team. This game was again a top of the league clash with all the niggle, ready to go

After the first 25 mins it was 0-0 and the nails were begining to take a pasteing

Whitney brought a big pack and were well up for the game, Maids again had a game plan and executed it to perfection

Maids looked to keep the tempo up and ran the game stepping up in defence and producing the quick ball we were craving in attack

Tries started to come with Dave Logan deservedly getting over in the forwards and Alex Cannon in the backs

The first half ended a close fought game with both sides entertaining at a high level

The second half was all Maids, as we sped the game up and the bigger Whitney pack started to suffer

Pete Nesbit producing the magical side step we all thought had passed him by, not once but twice to start the scoring

Karl Kempton woke up sniffing the opportunity to score a brace producing the kind of score line we were looking for

This weekend brings up the first round of the BERKS CUP against Windsor at Braywick (2.15 KO) so the more support we can get the better

So near and yet so far - If only..
Bracknell 3rds 18pts vs Maidenhead 3rds 17pts

Having knocked Farnham off the top of the league last week Maidenhead were faced with the same task last Saturday. This time it was Bracknell, but it wasn't the same story. This time it was a story of missed opportunities, dropped passes, forward passes, tries disallowed, and knock-ons, all after really good moves by the backs.  Very frustrating for every Maidenhead player on the pitch as well as for those of us on the touchline. Maidenhead should have been out of sight by half-time. Should have been, could have been, ought to have been

This match was Maidenhead's to win, but missed chances in the first-half hurt them badly

Colts victorious in National Cup
Maidenhead Colts 25pts vs Aylesbury Colts 17pts

Maids showed great spirit and were always in control despite a late rally from Aylesbury which made the score closer than in should have been

In the first half Maids dominated the territory but failed to turn pressure into points spurning several penalty kicking opportunities for attacking line-outs. The sole score in the half came from an Alex Cannon penalty making it 3-0 at the turn

Maids took their foot off the gas after the break and Aylesbury had an extended period of pressure which finally paid dividends with a pushover try try from a 5m lineout

That seemed to galvanise Maids and they struck back with a well-worked line out move from a shortened line-out. Chris Parrot tapped back to hooker Tom Morgan who passed out to Luke Knowles.Knowles was stopped short but Olly Styles quickly recycled, and Mike Skelton passed to Chris Adam who burst through the Aylesbury line to score under  the posts

Maids continued to attack with some great runs from Mike Burnett and Jimmy Makumure leading to a further tries to ease eventiually ease to a comfortable win
