3B STREET FESTIVAL PREVIEW |
|

|
The 3B Street Arts Festival is an innovative collaboration between the 3 London boroughs of Lewisham, Enfield and Sutton. It aims to blend the local and the international and highlights the fact that many of our local performers are of international standard. Lewisham's event is on 9th Sept, 12noon-4pm, Market Focul Area, Lewisham Town Centre.
Cosmic Sausages: a fantastically whacky street band who work internationally but who are based locally. Mimbre: this trio of female acrobats will premiere their walkabout show based on birds from the paintings of Mark Chagall. Flying Butresses present Pongo: one of the most respected street puppet theatre companies in Europe present an large interactive bird which incorporates sophisticated animatronics. Dream State circus: will be holding workshops in the week prior to the festival and will perform with the young people they have worked with. They will also perform Wildfell (mind reading as you sit !) and close up magic. Larkin About present The Waiters: Three stiltwalking waiters with some spills and thrills!

A season of unusual and imaginative FREE shows for children performed in the pPod in Sydenham Wells Park. Seating is limited, so tickets are allocated on first come first served basis, except Utter Nonsense, which can be booked in advance.
Horse and Bamboo: Storm in a Teacup 18th August 2006, 11.30am, 12pm and 12.30pm This enchanting 15 minute show kicks off two days of fun in the pPod a wonderful theatre inside a small tent ! Adult and child session/ 3yrs+. Horse and Bamboo: Early One Morning 18th August 2006, 2.30pm, 3pm and 3.30pm A 15 minute glove and rod puppet show. It draws on folk ballad traditions and combines simplicity with mystery. Adult and child session/5 yrs+. Blueboat Theatre: Utter Nonsense 19th August 2006, 11.30am ends 12.20pm Uncle Henry's lost his sense of humour! Meet Horace, a bug who's crawled his way to stardom, Dougie, the world's richest duck and Sigmund who leads Uncle Henry on a perilous journey. Adult and child session/ 4yr+. Something from Somewhere - Paul Chisholm
Wednesday 9th August to Monday 4th September
Paul Chisholm has been collecting remnants from historic places of historic significance, natural beauty and of ecological interest for over five years. He now possesses an archive from of four hundred samples from around the globe. Each sample he collects is an unique in relation to time and space. Jerk Cook Out Festival Sunday 20th August, 2-5pm Celebrate the 10th anniversary of In Celebration of My Sisters with a day full of Caribbean flavour.
