Welcome to the September Newsletter which has a special focus on the Galapagos Islands. As many of you will know, the BBC is about to launch a major series on this amazing set of islands (starting tonight on BB2, 9pm), and as a result, we are hoping that it will stir-up interest in holidaying in an ethical and responsible manner.
DTC has recently announced that it is going to be taking groups to the Galapagos next year, but as ever with DTC, there will be opportunities to get involved with projects which will help preserve and conserve the islands for future generations to enjoy.
So, if you fancy seeing the Galapagos 'in the flesh', but also go home knowing that you have done something positive for the environment and eco-system of the islands, then why not click here to see more.
Finally, we hope you will take time to read about how DTC is going 'carbon neutral' from January 1st 2007
Best wishes,
Adrian and Sarah |

People are already asking us when we will be releasing dates and locations for 2007? Well, the answer is next month! Within the next four weeks, we will be finalising most of our trips for the coming year, and we will let you know as soon as the details are on our website.
However, what I can tell you is that we are planning some exciting new locations, as well as increasing the number of tours to some of our most popular destinations, such as Sri Lanka and Thailand. |

Since their discovery by botanists and scientists, no other place on earth has had such a big impact upon scientific thought as the Galapagos Islands. The small archipelago, situated 60 miles off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos has fascinated and enthralled the world for generations. It gave life to Darwin's theory of evolution, and has fuelled scientific debate ever since he first stepped foot on the islands. Due to its isolation, it remains a uniquely pristine eco system, where animals wander freely and unafraid of man, offering those visiting the islands opportunities to get closer to animals in their natural habitat than possibly anywhere else on earth.

| We have had two major articles on our voluntourism holidays in Sri Lanka in the press recently. The first appeared in the Guardian on-line travel section, and can be viewed here. The second appeared in a special travel section of the Glasgow Herald, and an on-line version can be seen here. Finally, for those who live in the ITV south region, keep your eyes out in late October/early November for a three-part news story which will be appearing on Meridian Evening News, and filmed on one of our holidays in Sri Lanka. |

Since we started DTC, we have tried, wherever possible, to be ethical and responsible in everything we do. This has meant practicing energy efficiency and re-cycling, only using suppliers who treat the environment and their staff with dignity and respect, and encouraging our customers to do something positive to minimise the damage done to the environment from their flights.
