Number Plate Theft

Aviva Insurance has issued a warning about the theft of registration plates from a car or truck, which are then fitted to a stolen vehicle to change its identity and throw crime fighters off the scent.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that people who have fallen victim to the crime may not even be aware of it until they start being sent parking and speeding tickets.

Bridge Claims Defensibility Programme

Helping you to help your insurer to defend claims

Over the years Clients have rightly expressed their exasperation with insurers who settle claims that in the Client's view they should be defending.

Insurers are often faced with the dilemma of choosing to pay a claim with an early settlement or defending and being involved in a protracted court case where if they lose costs will be much higher.

Bridge Achieves £250,000 Cash Settlement

This settlement was achieved by working closely with insurers and loss adjusters following an aggravated burglary at a family home.

The family involved were so distraught and felt so unhappy in their home following the incident that insurers paid for alternative accommodation.

Unfortunately, this occurred during the freeze earlier this year and the family home suffered a burst pipe which caused significant damage.

Understandably, the family were even less inclined to move back into their home following the latest upset and so Bridge suggested the negotiation of a cash settlement based on estimates for repairs and replacements.  The family could then use the money as they wished.

A settlement was agreed and the sum is partially funding the construction of a new family home on the original site.
