Launching a career
Emily gained her Gold Arts Award in Cambridgeshire, developing her skills in contemporary jewellery and craft and leading sculpture workshops.

"It made me look at my whole lifestyle and opportunities as an artist and how others make a living, it also allowed me to learn new skills.  I have learned how to project manage more effectively and the award has opened up possibilities to become a practising contemporary jeweller."

Working with youth justice

We're delighted to be working closely with the PLUS Strategy Team and YOTs (Youth Offending Teams) across the country.  Summer Arts Colleges for young people at risk of (re)offending took place in 17 locations and 110 young people achieved Bronze Arts Awards, 94% of all completers. For many, this was their first qualfication.  Read more here

V for Volunteering

In February 2007 the Garage creative industries centre in Norwich secured £113,000 from V for a year long volunteering project built around the Arts Award.  In December they topped that with a follow-on award of £298.800 to spread the message across the East region!
V's mission is to inspire a new generation of young volunteers (aged 16-25) and enable a lasting change in the quality, quantity and diversity of youth volunteering.
