Delivering Simple, Speedy, Summary Justice

All CJBs are currently looking at how they can make the vision of simple, speedy, summary justice work within their areas.  Process failures have been highlighted as a key cause of delay in delivery of the SSSJ model.  This case study describes how Cumbria CJS used a process analysis approach to successfully roll out SSSJ across the region. 

Leading the Way in Kent 

In response to changes within the criminal justice sector, areas are examining the way in which they work to assist in meeting new performance demands.  Kent Probation Service recognised the importance for proactively taking control of change and has worked with Ad Esse to design and deliver a development programme for managers in the following areas: leading staff into the unknown; managing the change; improving current performance.

Using the Balanced Scorecard for External Reporting

Several times over recent weeks we've been asked whether a Balanced Scorecard should be used for external reporting of organisational performance.  Of course, the answer is "it depends", but you'll find an explanation of some of the factors to consider in our response.

Jan Smith, IS Quality Manager, Yell Group
