UK Email Marketing
Have you got the right touch?
This month we take a brief look at the latest results from the DMA's Quarterly UK Email Marketing benchmarking report. I know it's a bit of a mouth full but this report is widely regarded as one of the best. We've pulled together some highlights from the perspective, written by Dave Chaffey.
Chaffey opens by identifying that "the popularity of using email for marketing communications continues to increase unabated. The headline figure from this report is the 75% year-on-year increase in volume to nearly 20 million e-mails broadcast by participating UK email service providers in Q4 2005."
Chaffey goes on to discuss the challenges facing email marketers and marketers in general. He says that "the biggest challenge in email marketing in 2006 and into the future is what I call right touching". Chaffey describes right touching as "delivering the right offer, at the right time, with the right frequency and interval and using the right medium for each individual list member"
We'll take a deeper look at "right touching" in the coming months. In the mean time you can see the full perspective here. |
